The 2009 survey!

Ik zei het al eerder: sommige dingen blijven altijd hetzelfde, dus in het kader van de traditie ook dit jaar de (kom maar op met die standwerkersstem):

The 2009 survey!

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Play bass! Wore my snowboots that have been taking up space in my closet for 14 years now! Got a job with my own office! Tried Twitter and enjoyed it!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No, and no.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Unless you consider Gerard & Lyn-Z Way "people close to me", then no. ;-)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My favorite doctor died, which was unexpected and really upsetting, and Tanja the hippo died, which wasn't unexpected but still a bit sad.

5. What countries did you visit?
I went to Paris, so France.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A new bathroom! And I will get one, even if I have to install it myself!

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory forever?
I will never forget the Epic Emotional Rollercoaster Day.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I had lots of little (but important) achievements, not a big one that stands out.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Still don't believe in failure.

10. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
I had a lot of problems settling on the right type/dosage of medication for the blood pressure issue, and suffered a bout of flu & bronchitis at the end of the year, but I've generally felt better on a daily basis than in the year before (less exhausted, miserable and stressed).

10bis. What was the best thing you bought?
The heartbass!

11. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My new GP rocks! I never thought I would find a GP as amazing as my old one (who retired last year), but I did! She's not only a kickass doctor, but also a great human being.

12. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
There will always be people who are in definite need of a hobby, so there's need for me to get appalled or depressed over that; I just ignore them.

13. Where did most of your money go?
Basic necessities, cosmetics and bass-related stuff.

14. What thing did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Paris.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Florence and the Machine - Rabbit heart

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier
b) thinner or fatter? same
c) richer or poorer? a bit richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Nothing, it was a pretty busy year as it was.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Be sick I guess.

20. How will you be spending the Christmas break?
I spent it at home, with Apneist. We watched a couple movies: Take the lead, The Cutting Edge and Blades of Glory. I then watched Amelie, finally.

21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Still in love!

22. How many one-night stands?
N/a.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
I think I've seen pretty much every episode of Criminal Intent (we refer to it as "Crimineel in een tent") this year...twice!

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate people. There are some people whose spontaneous combustion I wouldn't mind, but hate...no. ;-)

25. What was the best book you read?
I really liked the layout of Kat von D's book. I also enjoyed the 2nd season of The Umbrella Academy and The 4 hour workweek gave me some food for thought.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Noisettes were pretty amazing live!

27. What did you want and get?
Pretty much everything, but most importantly: better health & less stress, a job, basslessons.

28. What did you want and not get?
I've got everything that I want.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Milk

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 34, ate some HEMA-slagroomtaart, wore my orange snowboots and had pizza with Kattenfluisteraar T. and Apneist.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I hadn't spent literaly half of it trying to find the right medication. And if my favorite doctor hadn't died.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
I still dress like a secretary who’s waiting for her career selling merch until her band takes off to take off. I really should get on that in 2010... Anyone hiring?

33. What kept you sane?
I wouldn't consider myself particularly sane, but if you mean "What kept you from going on a murderous rampage?", then it would be music. Lots of it.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
No fancying this year.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
I already have bloodpressure issues, so I stay away from politics as much as I can.

36. Who did you miss?
Nobody.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
The people of the NaNoWriMo Write In Group.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
Can't think of anything that doesn't make me sound like I read too many self help books (which I don't by the way), so I'll pass.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
The first thing I thought of was "Life's what you make it", by Talk Talk. Which is corny as h*ll and doesn't sum up my year, but it's a great song, so I'd advise you to listen to it anyway: click!

  3. Misschien is een commentaar op de lijst ook wel aardig, dus hier komt het:
    Bas = de bom!
    Nano was/is neat!
Emotional rollecoasters: tell me 'bout it...
Maar de Noisettes - ah, ik zie groen van jaloezie! Die moet ik absoluut nog live zien!

Daar laat ik het nu even bij :)
